Intimacy with your Father

Our spiritual Father, the Apostle of the house, Guillermo Maldonado once said to our youth Pastor Melina Hechavarria that if you walk into a place and you don’t know the language, you’re in trouble. When you walk into the presence of God but you do not speak His language, you will never receive the full effects of your relationship with Him. There is something very special about being able to speak the language of God; you must know how to speak His language. What is His language? His language is the ability to speak in tongues. When you speak in tongues you make it possible to speak to the Holy Ghost intimately. When you have the ability to speak in tongues, you have been filled with the Spirit of God. Like the Apostle Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians, “He who speaks in tongues edifies himself.” Speaking in tongues edifies your spirit, allowing you to build a closer relationship and a more intimate relationship with your Heavenly Father. It’s like dynamite in your belly!

The two shall become one flesh

As we look at society we see that there are many problems arising in marriages within the youth inside and outside of the church. It’s not the couples that have been together for 30, 40, or 50 years that are looking into divorce, but it’s the ones who have been married for 2, 3 and 4 years that are battling with problems in their marriage. Divorce has somehow become the solution to the problems we face when we get married, but divorce should not even be a word listed in your vocabulary! For many women, as well as men, insecurities have been a problem in their relationships.

Within the church, this problem goes beyond getting married and having sex. This problem is bigger than checking out the brother or sister next to you and thinking to yourself, “oooh, he’s cute” or “she’s cute.” When you make a decision to get married, you do so from the moment you say I do through eternity! There are several verses in the bible that speak about this. Many of us have lost our sense of care for marriage or for the plans that God truly has for our lives. There are verses in the bible spread out from book to book which quote one another over and over again.

22 Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. 23 For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body. 24 Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything. 25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, 26 that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, 27 that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish. 28 So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself. 29 For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church. 30 For we are members of His body, of His flesh and of His bones. 31 “For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.” Ephesians 5:22-31

In Ephesians 5, verse 24 it says, “…so let the wives be to their husband in everything.” If you are a wife struggling with your marriage, this verse is for you. Just as the church is subject to Jesus Christ, wives, in everything you do, be that perfect wife that God called you to be for your husband. If you are a husband who is struggling in your marriage, verse 25 states, “…love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and have Himself for her.” God has a plan for your life! God has a purpose that He will fulfill in your marriage if you just live your life in accordance to His perfect plan.

Bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh

“And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place. 22 Then the rib which the LORD God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man. 23 And Adam said: “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. 24 Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.” Genesis 2:22-24

Notice that in Genesis it says the same thing that it says in Ephesians; “…a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.” Many confuse this verse and they think it’s speaking about sex because it states you will become one flesh, but this is not about the physical. When Adam saw Eve in the Garden of Eden he said “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh.”

This verse needs to present when you think of your future wife or husband. This is a verse that must pierce your heart and it must remain there! This verse needs to replace anything else that you have ever heard or allowed to enter your mind and alter the way you think. The name Adam means human; when he was created he was made as a human being. In the Garden of Eden there was no sin. The bible declares that the woman came from the man, they were created as one. In Genesis it states that as Adam slept, the Lord took one of Adam’s ribs and that from that rib He made it into a woman and brought her to the man. When God created you, he created you as man and woman.

The foundation of every relationship must be “bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh.” The fear of God must consume you! Know your creator, and how He created you. The word man is “ish” which means “great man.” You need to be an “ish” to get your “isha”, your “great woman!” You must know God and your place in Him! God said it Himself, He created male and female as one.

Know your place in Him

You cannot continue to waste your time and spend your days asking God for the things you want in your future husband or wife. Understand that yes, God will you give the desires of your heart, but sometimes your own desires are not what you need or what God has for you. Ask God to keep you from making a mistake; don’t let the rejection in your life, or the sexual immorality and lies of the devil keep you from what God called you to do! Let people talk about you, let the devil try to temp you; you have to love God more than you have every loved anybody else!

Receive the revelation that your wife or husband will be the exact manifestation of who Jesus is! The person that God gives you may not be what you had in mind, but it will be exactly what you needed. What you need will take you further than what you want. What you need will fulfill every area of your life that your own desires would never come close to fulfilling. God created you as one.

32 This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church. 33 Nevertheless let each one of you in particular so love his own wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband. Ephesians 5:32-33

Obey what God has called you to do. Men, obey your wife, give yourself for her. When you die every day for a person, you die so they may grow! How many hours are you going to invest in prayer for their lives? It is a great mystery but God knows His plans and understands His ways more than we will ever understand them. You don’t have to be perfect. This is like salvation; it is a mystery for many and it cannot be explained, it’s only understood through faith.

You will never understand your place in the Kingdom of God unless you have faith! God created you male and female and He gave you a purpose out of His good pleasure and perfect will.
