You won’t live forever

“12 Teach us to number our days aright,

that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” Psalm 90:12

It is vital to understand that when you don’t know your purpose, you will just be walking around life without anything to aim for.  You need something to strive for.  One of the biggest traits of a foolish man is that he doesn’t understand his purpose.  That’s the best way to distinguish a foolish man.  If the bible says that learning to number our days is wisdom, then we need to start doing that.  Start reflecting on your purpose.  Ignoring your calling or purpose is a way to foolishness or destruction.  The bible says God’s people perish because of lack of knowledge (Hosea 4:6).  When you don’t know your purpose your on your way to destruction.  God will show you your purpose.  Ask God to teach you to number your days.  I’m telling you, you were not born out of mere coincidence but to fulfill God’s purpose on this Earth!

“13He replied, “Every plant that my heavenly Father has not planted will be pulled up by the roots. 14Leave them; they are blind guides. If a blind man leads a blind man, both will fall into a pit.” Matthew 15:13-14

When you are blind you cannot lead.  People who don’t know their purpose are covered in darkness in that area of their lives.  They become blind people leading blind people.  Those who ignore their callings will always be followers.  In other words, they are ignorant of their calling.  I declare you will be a House of Peace leader one day.  I declare you will be a ministry leader one day.  I declare you will stop being a follower to become a leader.  God will open your eyes so you can see that there’s a calling over your life.  When all you do is follow, you have conformed.  When you conform, you cannot transform.  Followers are always dealing with the same struggles.  They always deal with the same junk.  Followers don’t take initiative.  They conform very easily.  Say aloud, “I’m not a blind person!”  You have a purpose from God.  There’s a reason you’re reading this right now.  Those who ignore their purpose will always question why certain things happen to them.

You’ve been called with a purpose

“28And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28

Shout, “I’ve been called according to God’s purpose.”  Instead of saying “why did this happen to me?” people who know their purpose will say “this happened so God’s purpose will come to pass.”

What legacy are you leaving for those who are coming after you?  What direction are you going in during the next 12 months?  What are you doing?  Say “purpose.”  Purpose brings direction.  It will also bring fulfillment.  You will never be fulfilled in life until you discover what God called you to do.  He called you even before you were in your mother’s womb.  Purpose is so powerful that God couldn’t wait for you to be born to give it to you.  He told Jeremiah “before you got to your mama’s belly, I called you to be a prophet.”  Shout “I got purpose!”  You’re not going to finish reading this recap without knowing that you have purpose.

There’s something on the inside of you that you can’t take to Heaven with you.  There is a gift from God, a book from God, a song in you.  Your going to sing it out, prophecy it out, you will fulfill your purpose!  The one who has purpose has direction.  Tell someone you know where you’re going; you know where you’re headed.  One time the disciples asked Jesus “Master, where do you come from?” Jesus said, “I came from the Father.”  Then He said “I’m going back to the Father.”  You always have to go back to the Source you came out of.  I came to announce over your life that you’re going back to your Source!  You’re not some whatever believer, you know where you’re headed; you know what you got to do.  If you don’t go back to the Source you came out from, you will stop breathing; you will never achieve the purpose of God upon you.

Maybe you think you can do it because you’re wise or strong but let me tell you, it’s because God is strong and God is wise.  The Apostle Paul said, “I want you to understand, that when I’m weak, He is strong.”  On your own there is nothing you can do.  That’s why a lot of you have failed trying to live the Christian life.  You cannot live the Christian life disconnected from Christ.  You cannot stop masturbating unless you are plugged into the Source you came out from.  You cannot stop stealing on your own, because if your not connected to the Source you will fail over and over and over again.  That’s why you come to church Friday night, and then you backslide for three.  You are saved one Friday night and two you become a backslider.  They asked Jesus where He came from.  In other words, they asked Him “what is your purpose?”  You need to realize that it’s not through you, but it’s by the grace of God.  That’s why the higher you go, the lower you must remain.  That’s why the more you think you know Him; you need to remember you really don’t!

Living on purpose

If you don’t realize that your days are numbered, then you’re going to waste them.  If you don’t realize that your days are counted, you will play church one night and waste the rest.  Purpose will bring direction.  Do you know why you’re always confused?  You don’t know your purpose.  You don’t know what God wants you to do.  Purpose brings fulfillment.  That’s why you do everything out there and you are still empty.  There is something else, and that is the will of God for your life.  When you have purpose, you will be fulfilled and then you can leave a legacy.  The bible says “for this purpose was the Son of God made manifest.  To destroy the works of the devil.”  Jesus has a purpose, and it’s to destroy the works of the devil.  Are you just a blind person?  What are you living for?  Blind people will always be followers.  A follower is always at the mercy of someone else.  Say “I am a leader.”

God is a God of purpose.  He doesn’t create anything without a purpose.  Maybe you struggle trying to live Christianity your own way.  If you live it your way, you will fail.  I understood that many years ago, and I told God “I’m going to do this your way.”  Your days are counted.  Did you know that you won’t be able to preach in Heaven, because everyone is saved there? There are people who are in need.  God has given you a gift, a passion, a talent.  You are not here by mistake.  God has a plan for you.  There is a purpose for you.  The bible says “For God so loved the world that He sent His only begotten Son so we would not perish.”  What are you going to do with your life?  What are you going to do with those numbered days?  One of my disciples died this week and I had to do his funeral.  He’s with the Lord.  He was 25 years old.  You need to understand, you don’t have days to spare, you don’t have months to spare.  Any minute God will call you to give an account.  This is a simple message.  I want God to make you understand that your days are numbered.  God has called each and every one of you.  I want you to go where you need to go, but it’s your decision.  When you embrace the purpose of God for your life, you’ll have something to live for.  You will be a leader, you will just do it.  Live your life to the fullest for Jesus Christ.
