Slap someone and tell them “anything can happen!” This is our first Compel Night of 2009 and I want you to know that over 1,000 youth were brought from all over Miami in buses and cars! What are you doing to expand the Kingdom of God in your city? You need to do whatever you need to do whether it’s grabbing a random person off the street or just getting a van and stuffing them till it pops. Compel your city to Christ!
What is your true worth?
Regardless of the times we are living in, God still has the answer. He is still on His throne, He provided for you yesterday He’s going to provide for you today. President Obama isn’t going to provide for you, it’s Jehovah Jireh, God who is our provision, is going to bring you all you need and want.
29 Are not two sparrows sold for a copper coin? And not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will. 30 But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. 31 Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.” Matthew 10:29-31
I want to explain to you what your true worth is. Have you ever contemplated on how much you are truly worth? Ever been caught up in the middle of circumstances and you’ve questioned and thought “how much am I really worth?” I want God to open your eyes and show you how much you’re truly worth. Do you know how much a bird is worth? Don’t you know that God cares even for little birds so how much does He care for you? If a million birds were to be flying all over the place where you are, you are still worth more than all those birds. I don’t have too much time, so I just want to let you know that maybe you feel your not worth anything, you feel you’re a piece of trash, you’ve been talked about, manipulated, treated like garbage, stepped on and back stabbed but I came to tell you that your worth so much that Jesus spilled His blood for you! One day God looked down and said “I see my daughter there, I see my son there, so I’m going to send my Son Jesus for them.” There’s a God in Heaven that hasn’t forgotten about you, you’re still on His mind and heart. You’re worth more than what you can even imagine!
I dare you to think that God has forgotten you!
God cares what happens to a little bird more than you do so how much more does He care for you? Maybe you don’t know how much you’re worth. Maybe your family said you’re not going to achieve anything in life, those people that you thought were going to be there for you aren’t there for you anymore. God says “I don’t care what people have said about you, my Word says you are the head and not the tail, above and not beneath, that I love you like the apple of my eye, my Word says I will never leave you nor forsake you!” I dare you to think that God has forgotten about you. Maybe you stepped into this recap thinking you’re not worth anything, that nothing goes your way. God is saying “don’t be intimidated, start looking at things different and start changing your attitude!”
You need to understand that God is the owner of the silver and the gold, He owns the whole universe! You know why I need to tell you this? You might be here still thinking your just a nobody, you’re a good for nothing, your not worth a dime, that maybe you should sell your body because someone spoke a word over you and told you your not worth anything. I don’t care what your mom or dad said about you, I only care what the Word says and it says your worth more than you think. You can still graduate, you can still be a millionaire; you can still fly high over your circumstance!
30 silver coins
“3 Then Judas, His betrayer, seeing that He had been condemned, was remorseful and brought back the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders, 4 saying, “I have sinned by betraying innocent blood.” And they said, “What is that to us? You see to it!” 5 Then he threw down the pieces of silver in the temple and departed, and went and hanged himself.” Matthew 27:3-5
When you lack identity and you don’t know who you really are you will end up dead if not physically, spiritually. Before the blood cleansed me, I didn’t care about people, I did whatever I wanted to hurt people, but now I know my real worth. Look at Judas; he sold Jesus for 30 silver coins. You know what Judas’ issue was? He didn’t know his real worth and he ended up taking 30 coins to betray the Son of God. That’s what happens to many of you when you give up your values for a little time with your friends, when you give up your body for someone to tell you how beautiful you are. A few coins led him to betray the Lord. Why do you sit there all rejected, because you don’t know how much your worth.
You don’t know that the bible says God loves you so much that you know what; you’re worth more than a million birds. God loves you more than anyone else has ever loved you. He will be by your side more than anyone has ever been. He will be there when you’ve given up, when people told you you’re a piece of dirt, when nobody cared about you. Stop living life the way you do! You need to understand that you’re worth more. Don’t be like Judas who threw everything away for a few bucks. You’re worth more than a few bucks. My own mother told my father that it was his fault that I turned into a sissy by going to church. If I was intimidated by those words I wouldn’t be here. I understand I’m worth more than what I thought. You are valuable, you mean a lot to God. He sent His only Son to die for you. Do you realize that He didn’t hold anything back for you?
You’re worth the blood of Jesus!
“4 You have a few names even in Sardis who have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with Me in white, for they are worthy.” Revelation 3:4
Some of us that we’ve made a decision to stick to Him regardless of whatever we need to deal with. We made a decision to not be like others, to know what we are worth. It’s not based on the education you have or financial status. It’s based on the blood of Christ that was shed for you. You’re worth more than a bird so you need to tell people to stop treating you like you’re worth nothing. Over 2,000 years ago someone died for you so start telling people you’re worth blood! You’re worth the blood of Jesus! Can you see Him hanging there? Bleeding there for us? Every drop of blood was to wash our sins away.
Do you identify with what you just read? Have you believed too many lies of people that weren’t true. The bible says there are two places you will go when you die, Heaven or Hell. You will either go up or go down. You need to reconcile with Jesus Christ. He sent His only Son to die for you; every drop of blood was to wash away your sins. The bible declares that every man has sinned, whether it’s lying, stealing, fornication, whatever it is. Right now you need to make a decision. Can you wait till tomorrow or the day after? No, because you don’t know if you’ll be alive to see another day. He’s calling you to change and open your heart, to walk with Him. What are you waiting for? Maybe you didn’t understand your value, why all these issues are going on in your life, they are happening because God is calling you to His Son Jesus Christ. He wants you to give your heart to Him so He can be your Lord. Where will you spend the rest of your days in eternity? Will you be like Judas who wasted his life for 30 silver coins? You need to say in your heart that you will serve God. If you say you want to give your heart to Jesus Christ then I want you to say out loud right now this prayer:
“Heavenly Father, I recognize I’m separated from you, I ask you to forgive me of all my sins, and I receive the free gift of eternal life that Jesus gives. If I die I will be in Heaven because of Jesus. Right now I renounce to any pact with the devil, with the world and with myself. I make a pact with Jesus Christ right now. I will never be the same, change my life, and bring peace into my life, in Jesus name. I am a new person in Jesus name, amen.”
