What you see in your mind will come to pass!

I want you to say “think!”  God wants you to fix your mind not on the problem but the escape.  It may seem overwhelming but don’t put your mind on that thing.  Nowadays the economy and everywhere you go people are struggling financially and going through junk, but let me remind you that God supplies all our needs!  Fix your mind on the way out.  God will bring you out!  Say “I’m not gonna let those issues get to me,” I will fix my mind on what is good, lovely, and just!  Pastor, I don’t have a job, but let me tell you that God will get you a job in the next seven days!  No matter what it is, God has a way out for you.

The Prodigal Son

Finding Nemo is the greatest love story I’ve seen and it brought me to tears.  Check this movie out if you haven’t already.

11 “Then He said: “A certain man had two sons. 12 And the younger of them said to his father, ‘Father, give me the portion of goods that falls to me.’ So he divided to them his livelihood. 13 And not many days after, the younger son gathered all together, journeyed to a far country, and there wasted his possessions with prodigal living. 14 But when he had spent all, there arose a severe famine in that land, and he began to be in want. 15 Then he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country, and he sent him into his fields to feed swine. 16 And he would gladly have filled his stomach with the pods that the swine ate, and no one gave him anything.

17 “But when he came to himself, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired servants have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger! 18 I will arise and go to my father, and will say to him, “Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you, 19 and I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Make me like one of your hired servants.”‘

20 “And he arose and came to his father. But when he was still a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him. 21 And the son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight, and am no longer worthy to be called your son.’

22 “But the father said to his servants, ‘Bring[a] out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet. 23 And bring the fatted calf here and kill it, and let us eat and be merry; 24 for this my son was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ And they began to be merry.

25 “Now his older son was in the field. And as he came and drew near to the house, he heard music and dancing. 26 So he called one of the servants and asked what these things meant. 27 And he said to him, ‘Your brother has come, and because he has received him safe and sound, your father has killed the fatted calf.’

28 “But he was angry and would not go in. Therefore his father came out and pleaded with him. 29 So he answered and said to his father, ‘Lo, these many years I have been serving you; I never transgressed your commandment at any time; and yet you never gave me a young goat, that I might make merry with my friends. 30 But as soon as this son of yours came, who has devoured your livelihood with harlots, you killed the fatted calf for him.’

31 “And he said to him, ‘Son, you are always with me, and all that I have is yours. 32 It was right that we should make merry and be glad, for your brother was dead and is alive again, and was lost and is found.” Luke 15:11-32

Be a mature son/daughter of Christ

While I searched the scriptures to find a story that could relate to this movie, God led me to the story of the prodigal son.  In verse 11 it says the father had two sons.  One son was very mature but the other was immature and wanted his dad’s money.  It was funny because a lot of immature people popped in my head like popcorn when I thought of this.  I was reminded of many immature people that I know.  Have you ever thought “I just need what’s mine and I’m outta here?”  The immature son wanted his dad’s money so he could leave.  He was desperate to be independent and be on his own, waste the money on drinking, prostitutes, alcohol, and the loose life.  The other kid could’ve asked for it but he didn’t.  Think twice before you ask God what you want, because God will release it to you so you can learn a lesson if it’s not in His time but when YOU want it.

That’s the way it works with these people.  They get what they want and they get ready to betray you.  “God already blessed me, gave me everything.  I got what I want; now I’m outta here.”  That thing you want to squander, full of pride, won’t last you very long!  Look at Nemo, thinking he could do whatever he wanted.  He didn’t think he needed his father, and he went to open waters and where did he end up?  In a fish tank!

You say, “I don’t need my pastor, mentor, leader, parents, I’ll do what I want!”  Your issue is that you think you can do your own thing, you want to be independent.  Your gonna become part of the fish tank like Nemo!  You say, “I’m big, I’m bad, I’m all that, I got the Holy Ghost!”  Your gonna lose it all!  The Bible says that he went to feed the pigs because someone sent him to do that.  Be careful who your employer is.  “But he’s a good person!  He’s a Christian.  He goes to church, and sings in the choir.”  Only the devil wants you feeding pigs!

The lost are coming back to the Father’s house!

Have you ever felt far away from God?  That you don’t even know if you’ll make it back?  Let me teach you something about people in the world.  They don’t care about you.  Why?  Because no one cares about them, how can they care about others?  You can’t be next to a pig too long because you’ll end up being a pig too!  You’ll start sounding like a pig, smelling like one, and rolling in the mud with them. 

After nobody gave the immature son notice, he came to his senses and decided to go back to his father’s house.  Begin right now to call out the backsliders and start calling them by their name!  They will come back to their senses!  Those people out there lost and without hope, are going to come back.  They will remember that they have food in their Father’s house and they will go back to His house. 

The Father will run to His son, hold him and kiss him.  When you get married the last thing you do is kiss.  The kiss seals it.  The Father kissed him even before he repented.  At the end of Nemo, there were fish trapped in a net and Nemo went to rescue the fish.  Nemo’s father didn’t want to lose him again, but Nemo had to save those fish.  See, the Father doesn’t just want you saved; He wants you to save someone else.  To pull them out of the net, out of the fire, out from the world.

Maybe you were just like this son, or like Nemo.  Running away from the Father, you left God, or maybe you’ve never known you have a Heavenly Father that wants to clothe you, love you, forgive you, put shoes on your feet and feed you.  Let me tell you, He’s there right now.  He wants to wrap His arms around you.  Right now the Father wants to save you, to love you.  Come to Him as you are.  Cry out to Jesus Christ, the one who died and rose again so you can have eternal life, so you can have all you need.  You’re his daughter/son, and He wants you in His family.  No more will you have emptiness; His love will fill you right where you are.
