You need to fall in love with the Holy Spirit! Speak in tongues all day, read your bible even in the bathroom, do whatever you need to do so the Holy Spirit can work in you and through you. We need to be fasting just because we need more of the spirit of God. Are you feeling me?! When that happens get ready! If King David cared about what people thought then he wouldn’t have been dancing naked in the streets worshipping God. We worry too much about what other people are going to say. We have to be like the woman with the alabaster box who cleaned the feet of Jesus and didn’t care who said what because she knew that Jesus Christ forgave her sins. The woman with the issue of blood was chasing after Jesus. Not even the disciples could hold her back, she didn’t care, and she just needed to touch the hem of his robe. Nothing held her back from getting her miracle!
“5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. 6 And when Paul had laid hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they spoke with tongues and prophesied.” Acts 19.5-6
“5 not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,” Titus 3:5
When you’re baptized in the Holy Spirit it’s a different fight and different blessing every day and it keeps renewing you and keeps changing you. You won’t be able to fully take advantage of the Holy Spirit unless you do a few of the following things. The first thing you need to do is to leave your past behind!
Say goodbye to yesterday
“18 Do not remember the former things,
Nor consider the things of old.
19 Behold, I will do a new thing,
Now it shall spring forth;
Shall you not know it?
I will even make a road in the wilderness
And rivers in the desert.” Isaiah 43:18-19
Do not remember the things of old. Yes, you’ve been hurt in the past, people have made fun of you, family talking bad about you. We’ve all been there but guess what, you need to keep going! Don’t remember what your girlfriend did to you, your boyfriend, your family, and leave the past in the past. As long as you keep on bringing up the past you’ll never get to the future. Stop living in the past, and remember that a wounded heart can never worship the Lord because you’re always complaining about all the things that have happened to you. The devil might have stolen your past, but don’t let him take your future! Forget the past! The second thing you need to do is to die to yourself. It’s either the Holy Spirit or your flesh.
Are you prepared to die?
“23 Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily,[a] and follow Me.” Luke 9:23
What cross do you need to pick up? The cross that is keeping you from serving God. Is it your family, your spouse, boyfriend or girlfriend? You need to grab your cross and keep on going. You are where you are and nobody will stop you from going forward with God. I used to ask myself “Why did God send Jesus to be a carpenter?” Jesus would watch Joseph work and work as a carpenter and He knew that one day He would have to be crucified on that cross for YOU and for ME! The same wood He would use to make people things was the same wood He was working on that would crucify Him. He had to walk six miles carrying that cross and deny Himself and die on that wood. He decided to take the pain, and He told His Father in Heaven, “I don’t want to do this Father, but not my will, yours be done.” He had to deny Himself. He didn’t want to go through that pain but Jesus said not my will, but my Father in Heaven’s will be done.
Keep God’s Word in your heart
“51 Most assuredly, I say to you, if anyone keeps My word he shall never see death.” John 8:51
If you keep the Word of God in your heart you will never see death. I don’t know any deliverance better than obeying the Word of God. When you’re sick and you don’t want to be sick anymore read the Word of God, apply the Word of God. There is perfect deliverance in the Word of God.
The Holy Spirit guides us through darkness. He will lead you to the Father. Yes, you will still go to Heaven but you will be walking blindly without the Holy Spirit in your life. Why are you going to wander aimlessly when you can receive the Holy Spirit? You need the Holy Spirit!
When we speak in tongues we are able to reach the heart of God. He reaches down and touches our heart and we can take His will and extend His kingdom, snatch souls for Christ, and serve Him. Do you know why prayer was taken out of school? There weren’t enough people praying to keep it in school, and then they started praying after we lost the battle. No matter what you do, if you don’t have the Holy Spirit nothing is ever going to happen! You need to speak in tongues and declare the will of God over your life and stop doing everything in your flesh!
Receive the Holy Spirit now!
Maybe you’ve never heard of the Holy Spirit or you’ve never spoken in tongues before. Why do you need to speak in tongues to have the Holy Spirit? Because like baptism is a physical symbol that you’ve given your life to Christ, speaking in tongues is a physical sign that you have the Holy Spirit inside of you. Without tongues you don’t have the Holy Spirit because tongues is one of the gifts of the spirit. The bible says to ask your Father in Heaven for the Holy Spirit and He will give it to you. Go somewhere private wherever you pray and begin to seek the face of your Father and ask your Father for the Holy Spirit. It’s yours freely to receive so just open your heart, and open your mouth and let the tongues flow. It may seem strange at first but just let them flow. Practice speaking in tongues when you pray and you will begin to develop more in this gift. God bless you, and the peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
